Organiser Shahida Choudhry said 150 people were expected to attend.
Malala was shot by the Taliban in the Swat Valley on 9 October after campaigning for girls' education.
Ms Choudhry, of the Birmingham women's networking hub, said she hoped people would bring candles to symbolise "hope and healing" for Malala.
The former Respect party leader and former Birmingham councillor, Salma Yaqoob is to host the vigil.
Two women's groups, Amina Women's Group and Women2Gether, staged a vigil in Birmingham city centre on Thursday.
